My pals Sam and Dean (and Hank)

The Winchester brothers showed up last night in an airmail envelope from Titan Books in London. I was happy to see 'em. So was my dog Hank.

Fun fact: Supernatural: The Unholy Cause was not the original title of the book. I wanted to call it I Don't Need Your Civil War, partly because I'm a G'n'R Fan, and partly because it sounded more like the title of an actual Supernatural episode.

It's not a novelization of an episode -- it's an all new, original story featuring the boys and a Civil War re-enactment that literally goes to Hell. Among other things, it's got runaway trains, Clint Eastwood references and smoking hot southern sheriff named Jackie Daniels. I had a great time writing it. It's due out later this month.

Hey, Hank...check it out. Closer...

Closer...

Good boy.

"What's so civil about war anyway?" Gunner and Supernatural fan forever. Am looking forward to your book even more now--if they ever use a GnR song in SPN, I'll be in heaven. Thanks, fun post!

I've already pre-ordered it and can't wait to read it. My sister-in-law used to do Civil War re-enactments. In fact, she managed a re-enactment of the Battle of Franklin (TN) one summer. She was all about authenticity. It's a fantastic backdrop for a Supernatural story!

I have to ask. What sort of animal did Hank used to be?
